JoAnn V. Pinkerton, MD, is the Division Director of the Midlife Health Center and a professor of obstetrics at the University of Virginia. A fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, she also serves as the Executive Director of the Menopause Society.
Dr. Pinkerton has authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications, 70 abstracts, 30 invited papers, and 11 book chapters. As the principal investigator for more than 30 clinical trials, she has contributed significantly to advancing treatments for vasomotor symptoms using both hormonal and non-hormonal therapies. She has also developed five women’s midlife health festivals and has co-organized the biannual midlife community educational symposium since 2013.
